We joined Lita Lewis, motivational speaker and life coach of @followthelita, for a bootcamp workout. Lita does not see fitness and health as synonymous with being skinny OR curvy; she believes it is about being the best version of yourself.
That means honoring your body by leading an active lifestyle, fueling yourself with whole nutritious foods, and finding time to rejuvenate your mental and spiritual peace. After sweating together, we had a Q&A with Lita focusing on her philosophy of accepting, embracing and building strong minds and bodies.
Here are some of the things that stuck with us:
- There is no such thing as a bad day. Take it as a character building day. A slight shift in perspective can do wonders!
- You and only you are responsible for your own happiness! This is an incredibly empowering realization, once you can learn to accept and embrace this.
- Working out and living well is not just about your physical body or how you look. It is about bettering yourself as a human being and how you feel on the inside.
